The Falling Leaves...

There is something about this time of year that makes you take stock. New Years Eve is right around the corner and you are looking at the leaves fall and family members who only yesterday were small children or adults that seemed somehow younger.

That said I am devoting this post to the changing of leaves and faces of family on Thanksgiving Day.

For those of you who think there is no change of seasons in Florida... there is and it can be amazing if not as dramatic as in Colorado. Oh did I mention this is poison Ivy? It always seems so inviting this time of year!

Talk about the change of seasons. It was only yesterday that this young lady, who is the daughter of a niece, was in diapers.

Alex got this shot of me sharing a laugh with someone. It must have been funny!

Daddy seemed pretty happy and told us he plans to live until 100 just to make us mad!

My nephew and his family. I can remember taking him to the zoo as a little boy and now he has children that are the age I always remember him being.

And finally a new leaf for a different season, with a smile for a great meal!

  1. Why is it that we all seem to reflect at the end of the year? Is it because we are trying to remember whether we accomplished anything during the year? or maybe because the year has gone by so fast? My 25 yr. old was beaming because she is 'in love'... her giddiness reminded me of when she was little playing w/her friends... also it reminded me of how she and i are so different in showing that we are in love...i tend to keep it to myself and she announces it freely....her joy made me happy this Thanksgiving.

  2. Chrissy,

I guess what causes us to reflect at this time of year is the fact we have personal markers to compare. The family get together offers multiple opportunity to see how others are dealing with life or mark how they have changed over a period of time. Your daughter is freshly minted and just starting out in life which may explain her declarations. We all can identify with how it felt after we met our first "serious" love. It is a wonderful thought to remember...

I think you must have skipped a few years without us noticing...
What may be true for poison ivy doesn't seem to apply to you, lucky folks : there definitely are no seasons in Florida for Dads, daughters or aunties !
    Have a lovely day.

  4. Wow! You have a truly beautiful family!

A kiss for all, and, specially, for your handsome daddy, the Sweet Hands's Man.
